Director of Player Development Eric Hill

Eric Hill joins the Spiders after working as the head coach for the Mid-Atlantic Orioles showcase travel team comprised of players from across the greater Richmond metro area. He joins the Spiders in an official capacity in the fall of 2019 after working as a volunteer for several seasons. 
Hill played college baseball at Longwood and was a member of the 1991 DII World Series team that finished the year 41-8 and as the fourth-ranked team in the country. He and his teammates were inducted into the Longwood Hall of Fame in 2011.
He began his coaching career with the Glen Allen Youth Athletic Association in 2005 and served as a board member for several years. In 2015, Hill took over the managerial duties of the Mid-Atlantic Orioles 2019 graduate team. This team maintained a playing schedule in September and October as well as June and July, traveling throughout the country competing and showcasing players’ talent at many top colleges and universities.
He is an active member of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), having attended several national conventions. He is a member of the Virginia Baseball Coaches Association (VBCA) and holds certifications A, B and C with the USA Baseball ACE Program.
