Collin Radack enters his seventh season as an assistant coach in 2024. He joined the Spiders after three seasons in the minors as an outfielder in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, and spent the 2017 season at his alma mater, Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas.
Radack is the primary hitting coach for Spider Baseball, and works with the outfielders. He facilitates nationally recognized Spider Baseball Camps, one of college baseball's most well-known camp programs. The 2023 squad led the league for a second-straight season with a .309 team average and 136 doubles and sat in second with 579 hits. The squad was also third in .483 slugging and .401 on-base percentages and fourth with 385 runs batted in while hitting into the second fewest double-plays (25) and second fewest strikeouts (366). Radack guided A-10 Second Team All-Conference selections Johnny Hipsman, Jared Sprague-Lott and 2023 A-10 Rookie of the Year and First Team honoree Jordan Jaffe at the plate. Hipsman finished the season 5th in the country with 25 doubles and led the league with 86 hits. He also ranked in the top five in slugging percentage (.659, 2nd), OPS (1.093, 2nd), batting average (.381, 4th) and RBI (55, 5th). Once inserted to the lead off spot, Sprague-Lott found ways to reach base, finishing second with 44 walks, fourth with 13 home runs and fifth with 60 runs scored. Jaffe, the Spiders first ROY since 2013, was immediately comfortable from the three-spot in the lineup, finishing second with 59 RBI, third with 20 doubles and seventh with 12 home runs.
Radack guided the 2022 squad to a league-leading .309 average and 636 hits, while finishing second with 412 RBI. The squad finished third with 440 runs scored, 15 triples and .467 slugging percentage. The Spider offense was fourth with 103 doubles, 64 home runs and 84 hit by pitch. Senior Dominic Toso paced the Spiders offense, finishing with a .408 batting average to lead the league. He was second with 89 hits, third with 22 doubles, fourth with 62 RBI and a .462 on base percentage, and sixth with a 1.086 OPS and 59 RBI. Alden Mathes finished with 85 hits, 61 runs scored and a .344 batting average.
After a slow start to the shortened 2020 season, the Spider offense hit its stride again in 2021, hitting for a .291 team average, second in the Atlantic 10 and the 35th best batting average in the country. The Spiders were led by the Atlantic 10's batting champion, freshman Jared Sprague-Lott. Sprague-Lott hit for a .413 average, making 25 starts in 36 games in his rookie season. The freshman earned an Atlantic 10 All-Freshman team honor for his efforts as he led the Spiders with 31 RBI. Overall, Richmond had six student-athletes who started in at least 24 games hit over the .310 mark. With a line-drive approach, the Spider offense led the Atlantic 10 with 2.14 doubles per game, hitting 77 two-baggers in the 36 games of the 2021 season, led by 10 from Dominic Toso. 11 Spiders recorded double-digit RBI totals during the season, led by Sprague-Lott. Toso added 27 with four home runs and Anthony Forte hit a team-high five home runs and drove in 21 runs. Three Spiders earned Atlantic 10 postseason honors, led by two Freshman All-Atlantic 10 honorees. Sprague-Lott earned the honor along with two-way player Alden Mathes.Offensively, Mathes hit for a .250 average with nine-extra base hits and 13 RBI while making starts in the outfield, first base and as the designated hitter. Catcher Drew Blakely was an Academic All-Atlantic 10 selection, hitting for a .342 average with 10 extra-base hits, 13 RBI and 20 runs scored.
Richmond hit for a .246 average as a team in the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season. The Spiders had eight players hit home runs, led by junior transfer Dominic Toso. Toso hit five long balls and drove in a team-high 17 runs in his first season with the Spiders. Another newcomer that helped lead Radack's offense was catcher Drew Blakely. Blakely was second on the team with 16 RBI, hitting for a .296 average with three doubles and a homer. The team's patient approach resulted in 80 walks drawn during the season, ranking second in the Atlantic 10 Conference in that category. Freshman Alden Mathes led the Spider offense with a .375 average in his rookie campaign. The Pennsylvania-native recorded 18 hits with a double, a triple and a home run to go with a 1:1, BB:K ratio.
In 2019, Radack led a Spider offense that found its power stroke, hitting 54 home runs as a team, more than the combined total from the 2018 and 2017 seasons. Four players earned All-Atlantic 10 honors during the season. Third baseman Tyler Plantier and outfielder Anthony Forte were First Team All A-10 honorees, catcher Kyle Schmidt was a Second Team honoree and outfielder Johnny Hipsman was named to the A-10 All-Freshman team. The Spiders hit for a .283 team average, the best average since the 2016 season. Radack preached a patient approach at the plate that led the Spiders to earn a .390 team on-base percentage, ranking 36th nationally and second in the A-10. The Spiders drew 294 walks as a team, led by 37 from Sage Bruhl, for the top spot in the A-10 and finishing 30th nationally in that category. Richmond's offense scored 6.7 runs per game and was even better in league action, scoring an average of 8.3 per game against A-10 opponents. His outfielders were consistent all season. Forte started 54 games in center field Jordan Schulefand started 53 games in right field and the combination of Johnny Hipsman, D.J. Lee and Michael Strait manned left field in 53 of 54 games. Schulefand finished the season with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage while hitting for a .288 average with five home runs and a team-leading 14 doubles. Forte earned a .979 fielding percentage and led the team with 12 home runs, 53 RBI, 115 total bases, three triples and drew 35 walks. Hipsman ended the season with a team-best .377 batting average in 44 games, hitting eight doubles and three home runs. D.J. Lee finished the season with a .275 average and hit five home runs before being drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 39th round of the MLB Draft in June.
2018 saw Radack's offense hit for a .268 team average and ranked sixth in the Atlantic 10 in average and team slugging percentage. The Spiders led the conference with 266 walks, and were third in the league with a .378. Richmond finished fifth in the league after hitting 29 home runs during the season and driving in 271 runs, averaging 4.84 runs per game. Defensively, Richmond recorded a .973 team fielding percentage and recorded 14 outfield assists during the year. The outfielders earned a .991 fielding percentage with seven players earning playing time. With Radack's tutelage, Tim Miller earned A-10 All-Rookie honors as both a right-handed pitcher and an outfielder. The redshirt freshman hit for a .263 average with seven extra-base hits.

An All-American outfielder, Radack was drafted in the 20th Round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. He played in 203 games during his minor league career before retiring to begin coaching. Over his three-year playing career, Radack advanced as high as Double A, playing with the Springfield Cardinals in the Texas League. He finished his professional career with a .279 average with 33 extra-base hits including five home runs.
He played the outfield for three seasons as a professional, and was one of the most decorated players to ever play for Hendrix College. During his collegiate career, he hit for a .389 average with 64 extra-base hits. In his pro career, Radack hit for a .279 average across four levels of minor league baseball.
While a player at Hendrix, Radack ended his career with school records in games played, starts, at bats, runs, hits, triples, intentional walks, stolen bases and fielding percentage. He is also tied for first in total bases, second in doubles and hit by pitch, third in average, fourth in on base percentage and stolen base percentage and fifth in RBI.
Radack, who is also active with Athletes in Action Sports Ministry, graduated from Hendrix in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in business and economics and received his masters degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine (Calif.).
